The wine of the traditional Austrian variety Zweigelt comes from the Grabenacker vineyard. It has different soil and microclimatic properties due to its length. That is why it is divided into three sections that give Zweigelt different flavor nuances.
The wine has been vinified exclusively in traditional open fermentation containers with several times a day of fine hand mashing, 100% malolactic fermentation and further maturation for about 12 months in used barrique kegs. As a result, in addition to the unmistakable "zweigelt" aroma of dark stone fruit, especially black sour cherries, the wine has a beautiful touch of sweeter marmalade tones combined with the feel of roasted toast. The taste is beautifully smooth, fruity again with a predominance of black stone fruit. Longer, full and pleasant aftertaste.
For pairing this wine with food, we recommend heavier Italian paste or grilled red meat.
